Putting Cybersecurity Skills to Work for Missing Persons Cases

Riverside, CA., (February 23, 2026) — This past weekend, members of the CTRL-A team participated in the Trace Labs Global OSINT Search Party CTF, a volunteer event that brings together people with cybersecurity and research skills to support active missing persons investigations.

Participants used publicly available information to look for potential investigative leads, working within the event’s ethical and legal guidelines. Findings were submitted through Trace Labs’ Search Party platform for review and possible referral to the law enforcement agencies handling the cases.

For our team, the Search Party was an opportunity to put technical skills to work in service of people beyond our day-to-day client work. We appreciate Trace Labs and the volunteers who made that collaboration possible.
