Protect Yourself from Scams, Fraud & Online Threats

  • Tru by Hilton Norco Eastvale 3481 Hamner Avenue Norco, California, 92860 United States (map)

Scams are becoming more convincing, more personal, and harder to recognize. Join CTRL-A Technical Services and Legacy Core for a free community seminar focused on helping seniors recognize common scams, protect their personal information, and respond appropriately when something doesn’t look right.

Hosted by Laura Ramirez, Senior Real Estate Specialist, the seminar will feature guest speakers Brian Covarrubias of CTRL-A Technical Services and Christopher Green of Legacy Core.

During this one-hour session, attendees will learn how to:

  • Spot common scams and fraudulent messages before responding.

  • Recognize phishing, impersonation attempts, fake websites, and suspicious texts or emails.

  • Protect money, accounts, and personal information using simple, practical security habits.

  • Identify common pressure tactics such as urgency, fear, secrecy, and requests for unusual forms of payment.

  • Know what to do if something goes wrong, including after clicking a suspicious link, sharing information, or sending money.

  • Understand newer threats, including AI-generated voices, spoofed communications, and increasingly convincing impersonation scams.

The seminar will focus on practical steps attendees can use immediately, without requiring advanced technical knowledge.

Free to attend. Refreshments, raffles, and take-home resources will be available. Space is limited.

To reserve your spot, text “WORKSHOP” to Laura Ramirez at 626-290-8867.
